I will miss the place. 13 years. I can remember my first day. As the doors to Popular opened, this hoard of CBF, for lack of a better word, ok, kiasu ah-so’s, previously with their faces pressed against the sliding glass doors, rushed in and started grabbing whatever cheap dollar items they could find and joined the exponentially increasing queue at Popular’s cashiers. As if his life depended on it, this guy looked to me frantically and asked me what the cheapest item in the store was. Before I could blurt out I did not work for … he’s gone and joined the queue. Apparently, there was a promo at Popular that gave out freebies for the first 50 purchases or so. That’s one thing I will/will not miss, uttering,

“We are not Popular” (noob retort)
“We don’t carry phone cards.” (And if I did, I would be a millionaire now.)

Special “Customers” bonus: If someone can post about the time I had to call the cops to get rid of a persistent customer, he/she gets 2 free comicbooks from his stash. What can I say? We are popular.
