Piclens for Mac Only

This next Firefox extension is a must have, especially if you have big wide real estate on your flat screen. Here’s my desktop with Piclens:

Imagine a RSS news reader where you are free to browse thru the topics in pictures like Cover Flow or iPhoto. A picture is worth a thousand words. Enjoy! It also makes you want to get a bigger screen.

You can download the Firefox extension at their website. Whooops. It’s now called Cooliris. While there, go ahead and download CoolPreviews too.

Whoops again. Piclens/Cooliris is not for mac only, there’s a Windows version too, as pointed out in the comments by Luna from Cooliris. You can download all the different versions here.  It comes in different flavours too, not just Firefox, but Safari (great!), and IE (shudders).

Firefox 3 Optimized for Intel Macs, G5, G4

It was the geeky thing to do. Have a comic shop. Create an Apple category. I do miss all the iPhone, iPod and Mac users gathering at the shop discussing the latest apps.

If you have a G4, G5, or Intel Mac, there is a Firefox 3 that is optimized for your machine. Just go on to Beatnikpad.com and download Minefield. While there, you’ll find out you can also download a Safari theme for Firefox.

The Big Bang Theory

Watch CBS’s The Big Bang Theory. I just finished watching the first season, having been introduced to TBBT in United Airlines’ inflight entertainment.

TBBT stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar as the 4 geeks, and Kaley Cuoco as Penny eyecandy. (The above photo is not accurate as she’s rounder, much rounder now.) The geeks’ hobbies include comics and action figures btw. And going to comic cons, which the show did this year. Roseanne’s Sara Gilbert occasionally shows up as 5th geek. Singapore doesn’t air this, so look for other means.
